Things Worth Knowing
Can my child uninstall or bypass these controls?
Network-level controls on the router cannot be bypassed by uninstalling an app — they filter traffic before it ever reaches the device. Device-level controls (Family Link, Apple Screen Time) are PIN-protected and designed to resist child bypassing. The combination of both layers is significantly harder to circumvent than any single app.
Does this work if my child uses mobile data instead of home WiFi?
Network controls only apply on your home WiFi. For mobile data, Google Family Link and Apple Screen Time continue to apply app and content restrictions regardless of connection. We configure both layers so children are protected on home WiFi and on their devices when out.
Will this affect my own browsing or work devices?
No. We set up a separate parent network and configure profiles only for child devices. Your work laptop, personal phone, and smart TVs remain unaffected.
My children use both Android and Apple devices — can you handle both?
Yes — this is our most common setup. We configure Google Family Link for Android devices and Apple Screen Time / Family Sharing for iPhone and iPad in the same visit.
Do you read messages or monitor private conversations?
No. We only control internet access, block content categories, set time limits, and manage app permissions. We do not access messages, chats, photos, or personal data. This is boundary-setting, not surveillance.
What age children is this suitable for?
We typically work with families who have children aged 5–16. Younger children benefit from strict content filtering and time limits. Teenagers need a balance of oversight and privacy — we help parents find that balance.
